Stackridge

The Stackridge were a quintet coming from Bristol (G.B.), often billed as the "West Country Beatles"; in realty they were a good folk-prog band that played an original sound. The first album selftitled issued in 1971, it is one of those weird and unclassifiable oeuvre that defies easy categorization and it a very pleasant surprise. Here the group was: Andy Creswell-Davis / guitar, keyboards, vocals, bass; - Michael “Mutter” Slater / flute, vocals; - Mike Evans / violin, cello; - Billy “Sparkle” Brent / drums; - James Warren / vocals, guitar.
