While I was posting albums of Manfred Mann's Earth Band saw interesting comments about that English band and requests of other posts. So today I wish to do a special posting three albums:
"The Roaring Silence", issued in 1976, probably Manfred Mann's Earth Band's best album, as all the songs are excellent, with some of the best cover versions ever recorded on an album to boot. Its line-up is: Dave Flett / lead guitar; - Manfred Mann / keyboards, vocals (on track 1) ; - Colin Pattenden / bass; - Chris Slade / drums, percussion, backing vocals; - Chris Hamlet Thompson / lead vocals, guitar. The next album was this "Watch", issued two years later in 1978; the last great album by the Earth Band for their amazing progressive rock turned into a commercial regression. Here the musicians were: Dave Flett / guitars; - Pat King / bass, backing vocals; - Manfred Mann / keyboards, backing vocals; - Chris Slade / drums, percussion; - Chris Hamlet Thompson / lead vocals, guitar. The last LP recorded in '70 years was "Angel Station" (1979), it is is an underground station in London and it is the last one not too coomercial; its line-up is: Geoff Britton / drums, Alto sax; - Pat King / bass; - Manfred Mann / keyboards, backing vocals; - Chris Thompson / lead vocals; - Steve Waller / guitar, vocals; as guests appear: Dyane Birch / backing vocals; - Anthony Moore / guitar, synthesizer, sequencer; - Jimmy O'Neill / rhythm guitar.
