Edgar Froese

Many of you know Edgar Froese, musician of mythic Tangerine Dream, i think. His first solo album is this Aqua issued in 1974 it can be seen as the missing link between “Zeit” and “Phaedra”. Musically it is pure electronic / pre-ambient / aquatic music with long instrumental pieces. If you are familiar with the electronic ‘space music’ of T.D: and/or Klaus Schulze then you’ll have a very good idea what this album sounds like. Synthesizers, sequencers and other electronic keyboards are used to produce varying tones, pulsing, bubbling, whirring, droning, chirping and other electronic noises, often hypnotic and apparently ideal for getting stoned or for just chilling out.The line-up is: Edgar Froese / keyboards; - Chris Franke / keyboards.
